Eric Trump on father Donald Trump assassination attempt: "Toughest man I have ever met"

Eric Trump expressed a heartfelt message following an incident where his father, Donald Trump, was shot in the ear during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Eric Trump described his father, the former president, as the “Toughest man I have ever met,” according to Page Six. The Secret Service has confirmed that Donald Trump is safe and undergoing evaluation at a nearby medical facility after the incident.

Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger told ABC News that the shooter, who was positioned on the roof of a nearby building, has been confirmed deceased.

During Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, nine shots were fired, resulting in the death of one attendee and serious injury to another. The rally took place approximately 35 miles from Pittsburgh. Video footage captured the former US president taking cover as Secret Service agents swiftly surrounded him.

Donald Trump was observed leaving the stage with blood streaks on the side of his face, indicating a possible injury to his ear.

Following this, he was swiftly surrounded by Secret Service agents and escorted into a vehicle, according to NBC News.

After the incident, rally attendees stayed at the venue for 10 minutes before being informed it was an active crime scene and being evacuated. Everyone present was escorted out.

According to law enforcement, the sniper was located hundreds of yards away from the president in a building beyond the security perimeter.
