England's national soccer team enjoys royal backing in their quest to end a 58-year dry spell.

Prince William conveyed his support on social media on Saturday, July 13, for his country's team ahead of their final match in the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) championship against Spain's national team on July 14.

"We are so proud of you all @england, just one last push to finish the job!" the Prince of Wales, 42, wrote. "Go out there and show the world what you're made of. We believe."

He signed off the message with a "W" — indicating the post was personally written by him.

If either team emerges victorious in the upcoming July 14 match, both will achieve historic milestones in sports.

According to the Associated Press, England's national team will end a 58-year drought in men's soccer for the country if they win the 2024 title. This would mark their first major title contention since the 1966 World Cup.

On the other hand, if Spain, considered the favored team by the AP, wins the title for the fourth time, they will surpass their current tie with Germany/West Germany for the most Euro Cup titles.

Throughout the tournament, Spain has maintained a perfect record, winning all six matches before reaching the final. Meanwhile, England has built a reputation for securing victories after trailing behind.

Prince William attended the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup 2024 at Guards Polo Club in Windsor on Friday, July 12.
