KARACHI:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Sunday that Karachi is set to experience drizzle and light rain later today, following their earlier forecast of a temperature rise.

The Met Office indicated that a new monsoon spell would impact Sindh, including Karachi, from July 18 or 19.

Although Karachi saw some scattered rainfall earlier in the week, residents have continued to endure high temperatures in recent days. With a sea breeze blowing at 18 kilometres per hour, the maximum temperature in the city is expected to range between 34°C and 36°C. The minimum temperature recorded was 30.5°C.

While the PMD has dismissed the likelihood of another heatwave, it warned that temperatures could rise to between 37°C and 38°C over the next two to three days.

This forecast aligns with weather expert Jawad Memon's prediction that Karachi's temperature could increase by up to 3°C starting Monday.
