RAWALPINDI:

The price of chicken eggs has begun to rise again, right after the implementation of tax duties in the open market.

The price of broiler chicken has increased by Rs50 per kg in just one day. In the market, live broiler chicken is priced at Rs370 per kg in the inner city, and at Rs385 per kg in suburban areas, while regular live chicken is priced at Rs630 per kg in the inner city and at Rs650 per kg in suburban areas.

Faisal Naveed, a wholesale dealer, said that pricing in the market had become affected due to reduced supply from the farm. The Former Chairman of Pakistan Poultry Association and the President of Rawalpindi Chamber, Dr Hassan Sarosh hold the FBR responsible for the rising prices.

He said that the FBR should be abolished, as it is causing people and businesses immense worry. “The FBR and its staff are in a struggle as to where to get money from to meet tax quotas.
