'High blood pressure leads to stroke'

Renowned cardiologist Dr. Shoukat Memon said that high blood pressure was a primary cause of heart and kidney diseases. He highlighted the importance of regular exercise and a diet rich in fruits and vegetables for a healthy life, while also advising caution with food choices and avoiding fatty foods.

He shared these views while addressing participants at a one-day awareness seminar titled “Causes and Prevention of Heart Diseases and Blood Pressure,” organized by the Police Facilitation Center (PFC) under the direction of DIG Police Hyderabad Tarique Razaque Dharejo on Thursday. Dr. Memon maintained that blood pressure should not be taken for granted, it leads to stroke, heart, kidney and even eye diseases. SP Complaint Cell Hyderabad Tahir Ahmed Noorani, speaking at the seminar, emphasised the need to avoid smoking.
