Penguinz0 criticizes Boogie2988 over cancer claim controversy
Charles White, also known as Cr1TiKaL or penguinz0, addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding fellow YouTuber Steven Jason Williams, better known as Boogie2988, in a recent video.
"Yeah, I'm talking about Boogie again," White began, likening Boogie to the internet's favourite clown. White criticised Boogie's actions, stating, "It's actually unbelievable how he continues to find new deplorable ways to sink deeper into degeneracy."
White detailed the latest incident, where Boogie's claim of having cancer was publicly challenged. Boogie had previously used his alleged cancer diagnosis to justify a recent cryptocurrency scam, claiming he needed funds for medical treatments.
However, discrepancies in his story led to direct confrontations about the authenticity of his diagnosis. White explained, "The catalyst behind this whole conversation was Destiny, who spearheaded the questions about Boogie's diagnosis."
During a podcast, Boogie failed to provide any evidence to support his cancer claim, despite offers of up to $80,000 from multiple YouTubers for verification. "He refused to show even a single shred of evidence," White noted, highlighting the scepticism around Boogie's statements.
White also touched on Boogie's past behaviour, accusing him of being a habitual liar. He described Boogie as someone who "cannot help but lie, even about the most trivial things." White added, "Lying about having cancer takes a very special kind of scumbag."
White further elaborated on Boogie's refusal to provide proof, stating, "Boogie just scammed his audience for $10,000, yet he won't show a little piece of his medical record for 80 grand."
Boogie2988, whose real name is Steven Jason Williams, is known for his video rants about video games and nerd culture, often portraying the character "Francis."
Despite his once-popular YouTube channel, Boogie has faced numerous controversies, with White emphasising, "Boogie cannot help but continue to lie anytime he sees an opportunity for it, especially if it could potentially lead to some level of sympathy."
Charles White, known for his commentary videos and live streams covering internet culture and video games, has amassed a significant following. As of March 2024, White's YouTube channel has over 15 million subscribers and his Twitch channel has over 5.3 million followers. His content is characterised by his monotone voice and deadpan comedic style.
White concluded by emphasising the peculiarity of Boogie's actions and the widespread disbelief among the online community. "It's definitely not looking good for Boogie," he remarked, noting that Boogie's credibility continues to decline.
