Federal board announces matric exam results

Zubeida Nasim secured first position in Science group Part 2 with 1087 marks.

ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced the results for the 9th and 10th grades, with an overall matriculation pass rate of 88.20%.

According to official figures, the pass rate for the ninth grade was recorded at 58.71%.

In the Part 2 Science group, Zubeida Nasim secured the first position with 1087 marks, followed by Hajab Fatima with 1085 marks. Similarly, Masood Shabbaz and Fatima Wajid jointly secured the third position with 1084 marks each.

Controller of Examinations Zahid Mian provided detailed insights into the results, revealing that out of the 250,000 students who appeared, 174,000 successfully passed, yielding an overall pass percentage of 69.75%.

The controller also addressed issues of cheating and malpractice. There were 267 cases of cheating identified, resulting in over 60 first information reports (FIRs) being registered.

On July 10, the Rawalpindi Education Board released the annual matriculation examination results.

It was announced that a total of 119,265 candidates participated, with 87,639 students passing and 31,626 failing, resulting in an overall pass rate of 73.49%. Female students outperformed male students in both securing top positions and overall pass rates.

The top three positions were all secured by female students, with a pass percentage of 80.5% for females and 66.3% for males. Additionally, 698 students were absent.

Overall, 10,683 students received A+ grades, 15,406 obtained A grades, 24,175 got B grades, 25,569 received C grades, 11,255 achieved D grades, and 551 got E grades.
