Jared Leto, the renowned actor and lead vocalist of Thirty Seconds to Mars, recently took to Instagram to participate in a growing TikTok trend where travelers endure lengthy flights without any form of entertainment, focusing solely on the flight map.

The 52-year-old star shared a video of himself adhering to the "raw-dogging a flight" trend, which involves passengers boasting about managing flights by just viewing the flight path.

“What’s all the fuss about raw dogging flight maps? Back in my day we raw dogged the bare back of a seat for 17 hours,” Leto captioned the video, showcasing his participation in the trend.

He further joked about his preparation for long flights, asking his followers, “Who else is practicing their patience until tour starts back up?”

Leto’s post also included a call to action, urging fans to share the video with those who would appreciate the challenge: “Send this to someone who understands.”

The trend has elicited mixed reactions from the public.

One Instagram user boasted, “I could stare at the back of a seat for 17 hours on end,” while another commented on their lack of patience.

However, skepticism arose when one user suggested that Leto was actually sleeping behind his sunglasses during the flight, accusing him of “cheating,” as sleeping while participating in the trend is frowned upon according to Forbes.

This phenomenon of enduring flights without digital distractions has been gaining traction on TikTok over recent months.

Various individuals, including a U.K.-based DJ and an Australian musician, have shared their experiences and personal records, such as enduring flights up to 15 hours long solely with the company of a flight map.

In a society increasingly dependent on digital entertainment, this trend challenges individuals to disconnect and engage with the mundane yet meditative task of map-gazing, bringing a new twist to modern travel experiences.
