During a recent interview with Hits Radio in the UK, Glen Powell, 35, expressed his unfamiliarity with the term 'Brat' summer when it was brought up by interviewer Olivia Marks and his co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones, 26.

The discussion arose in connection with Charli XCX's latest album, which has ignited a cultural phenomenon since its release on June 7.

Edgar-Jones clarified the significance of 'Brat' summer to Powell, emphasizing its widespread popularity and the accompanying surge on platforms like TikTok.

Powell, reflecting on regional differences, suggested that in South Africa, where he was recently, the seasonal connotation might differ, possibly leaning more towards winter than the vibrant 'Brat' summer described.

Edgar-Jones reassured him, promising to send him Charli XCX's music to catch up on what he might have missed during this trendsetting season.

Charli XCX herself has defined 'Brat' as embodying a carefree, unfiltered attitude, describing it as someone who enjoys a bit of chaos and revelry.

In recent interviews, including one with TikTok's Off the Record, she elaborated on the term's nuances, from its association with a sense of luxurious rebellion to its more laid-back, casual interpretations.

The album's cover, featuring a minimalist lime green backdrop with stark black lettering, has become emblematic of the 'Brat' aesthetic, further fueling its cultural impact.
