Past military operations utter failure: Fazl

Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (Fazl) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has asked from the authorities to inform as to how armed militants managed to regroup after several operations.

Addressing a rally in Dera Ismael Khan, the JUI-F chief said the locals are not ready to leave their home this time amid an echo of new operation.

“We should be told who guards the country’s frontiers,” asked Fazl, adding, “If you don’t guard the frontiers and you are confined to the politics or elections, you are violating your oath.”

“Your duty is not to conduct elections or help support parties to win or lose the elections,” said the JUI chief, adding, “I have said earlier that I respect the army because it defends the country; however, if it gets involved in politics, I have a right to criticise it.”
