PTI challenges CDA notice over office ‘encroachment’

ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the notification issued by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to the party’s office in Islamabad’s Sector G-8/4 over alleged encroachment and violation of rules.

In a petition filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), PTI’s Secretary General Umar Ayub Khan has adopted the stance that the present government was using the CDA as a tool against his party.

In June, the CDA issued a notice to PTI’s G-8/4 office. According to the notice, the second and third floors of the office have been constructed in violation of the building plan. The CDA has also objected to the alleged encroachment in the notice.

The notice states that the building is not being used for the purpose for which it was built. According to the notice, the objection to the closure of the porch has also been raised.

“PTI is being targeted for political vendetta by the government, using public agencies,” the petition alleged.

It has been requested in the petition that the notification issued by the CDA on June 28 should be quashed as illegal.
