Netflix has announced that the highly anticipated film "Emilia Pérez," directed by Jacques Audiard, will premiere on November 13. The film features an ensemble cast including Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz.

"Emilia Pérez" is a Spanish-language film that combines elements of music, comedy, and crime. The plot centers around Saldaña's character, Rita, a disgruntled lawyer tasked with assisting an escaped Mexican cartel leader in undergoing sex reassignment surgery to evade authorities and affirm her gender.

The film also stars Mark Ivanir and Edgar Ramirez. "Emilia Pérez" made its debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2024, where it competed for the prestigious Palme d'Or. Although it did not win the top prize, it received the Jury Prize, and the ensemble of female actors won the Best Actress award.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, expressed excitement about the series: “This unique acquisition will showcase a sense of exactly what it takes to make it in the world of K-pop. Witnessing the band come together and be put through their paces promises to be a very exciting prospect for audiences.”

The film's soundtrack features original songs by Camille, with Clément Ducol composing the original score. Additionally, Damien Jalet is credited with choreographing the film's dance sequences.

Netflix announced the premiere date on Twitter, stating, "EMILIA PÉREZ stars Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz. In French theaters August 21. In select theaters this Fall and on Netflix November 13 in the US, Canada, and UK."
