Netflix has announced that the highly anticipated film "Emilia Pérez," directed by Jacques Audiard, will premiere on November 13. The film features an ensemble cast including Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz.
"Emilia Pérez" is a Spanish-language film that combines elements of music, comedy, and crime. The plot centers around Saldaña's character, Rita, a disgruntled lawyer tasked with assisting an escaped Mexican cartel leader in undergoing sex reassignment surgery to evade authorities and affirm her gender.
The film also stars Mark Ivanir and Edgar Ramirez. "Emilia Pérez" made its debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2024, where it competed for the prestigious Palme d'Or.
