Abigail Breslin criticises Katy Perry for collaborating with Dr. Luke

Abigail Breslin comments on Katy Perry's collaboration with Dr. Luke, voicing support for Kesha.

Abigail Breslin has commented on Katy Perry's decision to work with controversial producer Dr. Luke for her new album. Dr. Luke recently settled a nine-year legal battle with pop star Kesha, who accused him of rape and defamation, claims which he denies.

Breslin, known for her role in "Little Miss Sunshine," expressed her support for Kesha on social media, stating, “I’m just saying... this just contributes to the narrative that men can do abhorrent s*** and get away with it.” She added, “On another note, I love @KeshaRose and she gave one of the best shows I’ve ever been to last year <3 stream Kesha!”

Katy Perry's upcoming album "143," set for release by Capitol Records in September, has faced backlash due to her collaboration with Dr. Luke. In July 2017, Perry was brought into Dr. Luke’s defamation lawsuit against Kesha, where he claimed Kesha told Lady Gaga he had raped Perry, an allegation Perry denies.

Upon settling the legal battle, Kesha expressed a desire for peace, while Dr. Luke wished to move on from the matter. Fans have voiced disappointment with Perry's decision on social media, with one user writing, “I’m sorry but I can’t listen to any new Katy Perry song that is written and/or produced by Dr. Luke.”
