Gypsy Rose applauds Kim Kardashian for not being “afraid” of approaching her

During a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian, 43, met with Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 32, to discuss collaboration on prison reform. 

The meeting, set against the backdrop of Blanchard's high-profile case, focused on potential youth impact and abuse awareness. Kardashian, known for her advocacy work, expressed longstanding interest in Blanchard's story, emphasizing her commitment beyond mere sensationalism.

“She is the most well-known person that just got out of prison,” Kim said. “She really wants to get involved [in prison reform]. She can be really impactful with youth and abuse. It’s a fascinating case.”

Blanchard expressed her gratitude towards Kardashian, “I give you massive kudos right now because I think a lot of people are afraid of touching me as a topic because I am too controversial. So I give you massive props.”

Blanchard, who served seven years following a conviction for second-degree murder related to her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, spoke openly about her experiences and the challenges of reintegration post-prison. 

She acknowledged Kardashian's support despite potential backlash, applauding the reality star for addressing a controversial topic that many avoid. Blanchard, expecting her first child with boyfriend Ken Urker, highlighted the lack of therapy access during her incarceration and the difficulties faced upon reentry.

The conversation also touched on Blanchard's regrets and the complexities of her relationship with her mother, who falsely claimed she suffered from multiple medical conditions.
