TEVTA to teach five foreign languages

Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain launched five foreign language courses in Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) institutes on Wednesday.
Under the programme, three-month courses of the German, Korean, Japanese, Arabic and Chinese languages will be offered through evening classes in the institutes. Awareness is also being given about employment opportunities abroad, immigration rules and other issues.
German language courses are being offered in TEVTA institutes in Lahore and Gujarat, Japanese in Rawalpindi, Korean in Sialkot and Arabic in Multan.
Regular classes of the languages will begin on August 5.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister said the language courses would facilitate the youth in getting better job opportunities in other countries.
While stressing monitoring of the language classes, the minister said the labs of the courses should also be upgraded as per requirements.
TEVTA Senior Director General Akhtar Abbas Bharwana gave a detailed briefing about the language courses. He said standards had been set for the teachers for the language courses.
