Anne Hathaway is reportedly in discussions to reprise her role in the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada,” alongside original cast members Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.

Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, known for the 2006 fashion comedy, is crafting the script for Disney's follow-up film, as reported by multiple sources in July 2024. Producer Wendy Finerman and director David Frankel, who helmed the original, are also set to return.

Adapted from Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel, The Devil Wears Prada focuses on Hathaway's character Andy Sachs, hired by Runway editor Miranda Priestly (Streep). The story chronicles Andy's tumultuous journey while navigating the demanding fashion industry, contrasting with Emily Charlton (Blunt), who remains dedicated to the high-pressure world at Miranda's side.

“The first time Meryl was Miranda Priestly was a meeting with the head of the studio,” Frankel told EW in 2021 on its 15-year anniversary. “Meryl channeled Miranda in that meeting, and there was no conversation about the hair; they looked into Meryl’s eyes and never said a word.”

It is uncertain whether Adrian Grenier, who played Hathaway's on-screen boyfriend, will also reprise his role in the sequel.

Hathaway has acknowledged uncertainty about the sequel's possibility, citing significant shifts in the media landscape.

As of July 2024, there is no confirmed release date set for The Devil Wears Prada sequel.
