Land record operations being digitalised

Initiative aims at paperless governance

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Government Digital Services Wing (GDS) will implement the e-Filing Office Automation System (e-FOAS) to improve the operational efficiency of the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA).

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the PITB and the PLRA. Under the direction of PITB Chairman Faisal Yusuf and the supervision of DG Government Digital Services Wing Muhammad Waseem Bhatti, the implementation of e-FOAS in government departments is progressing rapidly.

The MoU was signed by DG Government Digital Services Wing Waseem Bhatti and DG Punjab Land Record Authority Ikram ul Haq.

According to the agreement, all office operations of the Punjab Land Records Authority will now be managed digitally.

The Government Digital Services Wing DG said that the PITB wing is dedicated to achieving the goal of making Punjab a fully paperless province.

He added that by introducing e-FOAS in government offices, the Punjab government is not only saving billions of rupees from the public treasury but also enhancing service delivery.

According to an official statement, the implementation of the digital system marks a significant step towards streamlining office affairs and improving the efficiency of government operations.

The PITB wing’s office automation system has become indispensable for government departments due to its utility and efficiency, it added.
