Pindi Board announces matric exam results

The Rawalpindi Education Board has released the annual matriculation examination results.

A total of 119,265 candidates participated, with 87,639 students passing and 31,626 failing, resulting in an overall pass rate of 73.49%. Female students outperformed male students in both securing top positions and overall pass rates. The top three positions were all secured by female students, with a pass percentage of 80.5% for females and 66.3% for males. Additionally, 698 students were absent.

Overall, 10,683 students received A+ grades, 15,406 obtained A grades, 24,175 got B grades, 25,569 received C grades, 11,255 achieved D grades, and 551 got E grades.

Engineer Qamar Islam, Chairman of the District Coordination Development Committee, announced on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz that all top position holders will be given a guard of honour. He emphasised the government’s efforts to eliminate cheating in exams and highlighted educational reforms, including the repair and construction of school facilities.

Adnan Khan, Chairman of the Board, stated that the examination system in Rawalpindi has been upgraded and made foolproof. Awards were distributed among successful students. The top position holder, Aqsa Noor, secured 1179 marks and criticized the current examination marking system as outdated and flawed. She called for an immediate overhaul and modernization.

In the General Science Group for Girls, Iqra Suleman secured the first position with 1,105 marks. In the General Group for Boys, Humayun Taj secured the first position with 1,049 marks.
