Heavy legislative agenda awaits NA session

Meeting will see the presentation of 15 bills, while three bills will be approved through legislation.

The National Assembly Secretariat has released a 50-point agenda for today’s session. The meeting, called by President Asif Ali Zardari, will see the presentation of 15 bills, while three bills will be approved through legislation.

According to the Order of the Day issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, the agenda for Tuesday includes the repeal of the Contempt of Court Law.

Constitutional Amendment Bills for 2024, related to amending Articles 193, 177, and 208 of the Constitution against dual nationality for Supreme Court and high court judges, as well as amendments to Articles 184, 51, and 106, will be presented by JUI-F member Noor Alam Khan.

The High Courts Establishment (Amendment) Bill 2024, concerning amendments to the High Courts Establishment Order, 1970, will also be tabled in the assembly.

NA former speaker Asad Qaiser—who belongs to the PTI—will also present the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2024, related to amendments to Articles 175A and 215 of the Constitution.
