Implementation of environmental laws discussed

KARACHI:

The Minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Coastal Development, Dost Muhammad Rahimoon chaired a meeting of the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) to review challenges to implementation pof environmental laws.

All district in-charges from across Sindh attended the meeting and presented their progress reports. These reports detailed the environmental issues in various districts, the measures taken to address them, and the progress made.

The reports covered a range of environmental projects including initiatives to control air pollution, water purification projects, forest protection, and the implementation of environmental laws.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of all these projects to determine which were successful and which needed further improvement. Various challenges faced by the districts in terms of environmental protection were identified.

These challenges included a lack of funds, the need for public awareness, and issues related to technical assistance. Minister Dost Muhammad Rahimoon appreciated the performance of the district in-charges and emphasized the need for continued efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development. He stressed the importance of developing a comprehensive strategy for the future to find lasting solutions to environmental issues in Sindh.
