Man, son die in roof collapse

A 30-year-old man and his 12-year-old son died after the roof of an Imambargah collapsed in the Bhatti Gate area on Monday.

The Imambargah, established by Ashiq Hussain alias Nonay Shah in Hakeem Wala Bazar, was constructed using TR girders.

The roof suddenly gave way, trapping two people under the debris. Local residents quickly called rescue teams, who arrived at the scene, removed the debris, and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Safdar Shah, 30, and his son Hasnain Safdar, 12.

In a separate incident reported in Chungi Amar Sadhu, a 50-year-old sanitary worker drowned in a drain. The worker was cleaning the drain in preparation for floods when he slipped and fell into the water.
