Kanye West to perform in South Korea for the first time in over a decade
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, will perform in South Korea on August 23 for the first time in 14 years.
Channel Candy, the concert's organiser, announced this news on Saturday. The event will be held at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi.
This performance is part of Ye's listening event sessions promoting his new album "Vultures," a collaboration with singer Ty Dolla $ign, released in February. The concert is co-hosted by Channel Candy’s parent company Nextis and festival brand Le Grand.
Ye last performed in South Korea in 2010 during the "Summer Week&T" music festival at Naksan Beach, Yangyang, Gangwon. Throughout his career, Ye has won 24 Grammy Awards and released nine solo albums that topped the Billboard 200 chart, including "Vultures," which reached number one on February 24.
Known for his influence in fashion, Ye has collaborated with brands like Louis Vuitton, Gap, Nike, and Adidas, and launched his own apparel company, Yeezy, in 2015. Despite his success, he has faced numerous controversies, including politically charged statements and erratic behaviour. Ticket information for the concert is yet to be disclosed.
