Love Island faced a major shake-up as a contestant had unexpectedly left the show.

According to The Sun, the individual decided to depart after their partner was eliminated in a surprising elimination.

They chose to leave the villa and accompany their partner off the island, a decision that surprised the show's producers.

The departure has not yet been shown on air and comes after Trey Norman and Ellie Jackson left the Majorca villa following an eventful Movie Night.

A source revealed, "The villa is so full that people are sleeping on the day beds.”

"So producers decided it was a good idea to trim the fat and called another dumping soon after Movie Night.”

"What they were not expecting was the partner of the individual axed wanting to leave.”

"That rarely ever happens. And the person was one of the most popular in the villa.”

"There are also more bombshells on the way that they could have had a better connection with."

The Sun reached out to ITV for a response.

Previous Love Island contestants who have voluntarily left include Jacques O'Neil, Jake Cornish, and Georgia Steel.

The villa's Movie Night concluded with emotional scenes as the cast's actions were displayed on a large screen.

After preparing with popcorn and dressing up, the islanders gathered to view clips highlighting some of the season's most controversial moments.

The event strained Uma and Wil's relationship, and tensions rose between Grace and Joey, with Grace passionately telling him, "Bore off man!"
