Watch Travis Kelce shed tears during Taylor Swift’s special mashup in Amsterdam
Travis Kelce, 34, was seen leaving hand-in-hand with Taylor Swift, also 34, following her concluding Eras Tour concert in Amsterdam.
However, fan footage revealed that Kelce's emotions surfaced well before their departure from the Johan Cruijff Arena on Saturday, July 6.
In a video shared on TikTok on Sunday, July 7, Kelce appeared to wipe tears from his eyes as Swift performed “Everything Has Changed.” This track was part of a surprise song set that also included “Mary’s Song (Oh My My)” and “So High School.”
Kelce, accompanied by Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes, watched the performance from a VIP box. The video shows Brittany Mahomes checking on Kelce when he became visibly emotional.
Fans have nicknamed Swift’s song medley the “Travis Kelce mega-mashup,” interpreting the selection as a nod to the footballer. “Mary’s Song” includes the number 87, which corresponds to Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs jersey number. Additionally, “So High School” was discussed by Kelce on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast on June 24, where he mentioned it has “got a little bit of a sentimental meaning.”
Kelce was also seen singing along to both “Mary’s Song” and “So High School” during the performance.
The video has been a hit with fans of Swift and Kelce. One TikTok user commented, “I love the [sic] Brittany Mahomes went to check in on him,” while another wrote, “My heart can NOT handle this level of loving out loud … I can not stop crying.”
After Swift’s performance, she joined Kelce backstage. The footballer then energized the crowd in support of Swift as they exited together.
Brittany and Patrick Mahomes, both 28, had traveled to Amsterdam from London, where they recently attended Wimbledon and shared photos from the event on Instagram.
This month is significant for Kelce and Swift, who might have first felt a connection around this time last year. In July 2023, Swift celebrated the 4th of July with her female friends, including Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters.
Days later, she posted photos from the event, mentioning her then-single status. “Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies,” she wrote, adding, “See you tonight Kansas Cityyy.”
Swift’s Kansas City concert was where Kelce tried to approach her by giving her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, attending the event with the Mahomeses.
