MQM-P criticises PPP’s performance
Instead of engaging in rhetoric, the Pakistan Peoples Party government should focus on improving the city's dire situation, said Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader Ali Khursheedi.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader was addressing a press conference at the party's temporary headquarters, Pakistan House alongside, MPAs and MQM-P officials on Sunday morning. Khursheedi stated that the purpose of the morning's press conference was to hold up a mirror to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), exposing the reality of the Sindh Chief Minister's work.
Khursheedi urged the PPP to stop targeting MQM leadership, warning that MQM has more material against them.
He emphasized that instead of engaging in rhetoric, the PPP should focus on improving the city's dire situation.
He highlighted that Karachi, needing 15,000 buses, was only provided with 100, which he termed insufficient. He also pointed out the poor state of education and health in Sindh despite significant budget allocations over the last 16 years, with over 7 million children out of school and inadequate healthcare facilities.
He criticized the current state of hospitals, stating that no treatment could be done in the province without bringing patients to Karachi. He claimed that if a few key individuals were removed from the health system, it would collapse. Khursheedi accused the Karachi Mayor of hiding the incompetence of the PPP government instead of addressing these issues.
Engineer Usman, Haq Parast Member of the Provincial Assembly, also spoke, defending MQM leadership against accusations from the PPP.
