HYDERABAD:

The water reservoirs in Latifabad Unit No6 are in an alarmingly dilapidated condition. The disrepair of these reservoirs has halted the water supply, resulting in a severe water shortage for the residents of Latifabad No6 and adjacent localities.

Union Council Chairman Afaq Nasar of Jamaat-e-Islami recently visited the reservoirs to assess the situation. In a video message, he emphasized the dire state of the water supply system and the urgent need for action. He revealed that numerous letters had been sent to the Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) Director General and WASA Managing Director, highlighting that Unit No. 6, despite paying the highest water supply and drainage bills, is not receiving its allotted water supply.

Nasar issued a stern warning: if the water supply is not restored and the reservoirs are not repaired within two days, a protest will be staged outside the offices of the HDA Director General and WASA Managing Director on Monday. The residents of Latifabad, deprived of their basic right to clean water, demand immediate action to alleviate their suffering and restore the water supply from these neglected reservoirs.
