Kidnapped labourers safely rescued

DI KHAN:

The four kidnapped laborers from Punjab, who had been abducted while working on a power transmission line in the Tank district, have been rescued.

Police said that 13 workers had been kidnapped by unidentified persons. However, the kidnappers later released nine laborers and took away four of them. Later a TTP offshoot claimed responsibility for the abduction and released a video of the workers who appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab to accept the demands of the militants.

On Sunday all four kidnapped laborers were rescued who have been identified as Waseem, Imran, Azhar and Ijaz.

Meanwhile, two young girls in a house were killed and three women were injured when a mortar shell hit their house in Kulachi, DI Khan.

Local residents staged a protest by placing dead bodies of the victims on the road.

According to details, the house was completely destroyed by the mortar explosion in the faraway area of the Kulachi tehsil.

The attack caused widespread panic and anger among the local residents who staged a protest for several hours demanding action against those responsible.

Later the protestors dispersed peacefully after negotiations with the local police.
