Shatrughan Sinha slams media for intrusion into family matters

Veteran actor-politician says all families have internal issues which are not up for public scrutiny

MUMBAI:

Veteran Bollywood actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has expressed his outrage over the Indian media's coverage of his family's internal matters.

In a recent interview, Sinha made it clear that his family, like any other, experiences disagreements and conflicts that do not warrant public scrutiny. "My family is just like any other Indian family; we have our differences," Sinha stated.

"There is no need to make a big fuss if there are some issues between family members. I believe there's a deliberate attempt to target my family."

Addressing rumours about his son, Luv Sinha, not attending his sister Sonakshi's wedding, Sinha remarked, "If my son did not attend his sister's wedding, it's not a big deal. Families go through bigger issues than this."

Regarding his daughter's marriage to a Muslim man, Sinha commented, "Interfaith marriages are happening not just in Bollywood but across India. I hope Zaheer makes their married life happy and keeps my daughter content."

Sinha issued a stern warning to the media, stating, "If anyone criticizes or talks about my family again, I will not tolerate it."

Sonakshi Sinha married her Muslim friend Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, in a private ceremony at her apartment, attended by family and close friends.

Reports had circulated that her brothers, Kush and Luv Sinha, did not attend the wedding, allegedly due to disapproval of her marrying a Muslim man.
