Emma Roberts, known for her role in Nickelodeon's "Unfabulous," has voiced her shock and sadness over the disturbing claims of child abuse revealed in the "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" docuseries.

In a recent interview with Variety, Roberts, 33, expressed her disbelief at the allegations, stating that her own experience as a child actor on the network was vastly different. She praised her female showrunner, Sue Rose, and the constant presence of her mother, who ensured her safety and well-being on set.

Roberts' positive experience contrasts with the stories shared in the docuseries, where former child actors detailed the toxic culture and abuse they endured on children's television shows, many produced by Dan Schneider. The revelations included sexual assault allegations, accusations of sexism, and descriptions of a disturbing environment behind the scenes at Nickelodeon.

While expressing her sadness for her peers, Roberts emphasised the importance of protecting children on sets and acknowledged the ongoing efforts to create safer work environments. She hopes that the docuseries will lead to positive change in the industry.

Nickelodeon, in response to the allegations, has stated that they investigate all formal complaints and are committed to fostering a safe and professional workplace. They also emphasised their prioritisation of the well-being and best interests of children.
