Adult film star Stormy Daniels receives over $900K from GoFundMe after alleged threats

Supporters raise over $900K for Stormy Daniels after alleged threats following her testimony in Trump's trial

Supporters of Stormy Daniels have raised over $900,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to help her relocate to a safe house and cover legal fees after she testified in the criminal trial that led to Donald Trump’s conviction on 34 felonies. The fundraiser, organized by her friend and former manager Dwayne Crawford, aims to reach $1 million.

Daniels, an adult film actor whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, has faced significant harassment and threats, including threats to rape and murder her family, according to Crawford. He stated on the campaign page, “It’s become unsafe for her family and her pets. Stormy needs help to relocate her family to somewhere they can feel safe and live on their terms.”

Daniels recently appeared on MSNBC and detailed the threats she has received from Trump supporters. “I’ve lost … mostly my peace, mostly my daughter’s privacy, and time – time I’ll never get back with her,” she told Rachel Maddow. Daniels also revealed she owed $500,000 in attorney fees related to a civil defamation lawsuit she filed against Trump in 2018.

The GoFundMe campaign, called "I Stand with Stormy Daniels," has raised over $940,000 from about 17,600 donors as of Friday. Daniels played a key role in Trump's conviction in May on charges of falsifying business records. Prosecutors argued that a $130,000 payment to Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged extramarital affair with Trump was falsely recorded as legal expenses.

Trump's legal battles continue, with the US Supreme Court ruling that presidents have broad immunity from prosecution for their actions in office. This decision led New York judge Juan Merchan to delay Trump’s sentencing in the case involving Daniels from July 11 to September 18.

E Jean Carroll, who won nearly $90 million in civil penalties from Trump over allegations of rape and defamation, expressed her support for Daniels on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “I’d be happy to help!!”

In contrast, Daniels' former attorney Michael Avenatti, currently imprisoned for defrauding her and other clients, criticized the GoFundMe campaign as a “GoFundMe grift” and “complete bullshit,” arguing that the threats were not personally from Trump.

Crawford emphasized the importance of supporting Daniels, writing, “If we allow Stormy, after choosing to stand up to the president of these United States, to lose her life, her liberty or her happiness, then we have failed at the very foundational core of what this nation was built upon.”
