ISLAMABAD:

The Anti-Terrorism Court has canceled the non-bailable arrest warrant of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the Judicial Complex vandalism case after he appeared before the court.

The court also postponed the hearing on the bail before arrest petitions filed by K-P CM Ali Amin Gandapur, Omer Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Ali Nawaz Awan and other PTI leaders in the same case till July 29. During the hearing, the investigating officer told the court that the police do not want to arrest accused Mubashir Latif.

The counsel for Ali Amin Gandapur said that the incumbent K-P CM had remained under detention in another case for a month but the police did not arrest him in the Judicial Complex vandalism case, though the police were aware about his whereabouts.

The judge inquired if a proclaimed offender deserves concession, adding the proclaimed offender cannot attain basic rights.

The K-P chief minister requested the court to postpone the hearing till the end of Muharram as the law and order situation remains very sensitive during the holy month.
