NADRA to expand data registration coverage

Move aims to reach every corner of country

ISLAMABAD:

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar informed the upper house of parliament on Friday about the National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) plan to enhance its population data registration footprint across nearly 11,777 union councils (UCs) in Pakistan.

The announcement was made in response to a question posed by Senator Fawia Arshad during the second meeting of the 340th Senate session.

Senator Tarar revealed that NADRA’s initiative, which will initially cover 1,150 UCs starting from major urban centres, aims to reach every corner of the country, not just the Islamabad Capital Territory.
