Another man found dead in suspected suicide

RAWALPINDI:

In a tragic incident, a married couple was shot dead at their home within the jurisdiction of Mandra police station in Rawalpindi.

According to a spokesperson, the police have initiated an investigation after collecting evidence from the crime scene. He said the victims, 65-year-old Mazhar and his 60-year-old wife Ghousia, were sleeping in the yard of their house when unknown assailants shot them dead and fled the scene. Family members of the deceased, who were also sleeping in the yard and inside the house, discovered the bodies and alerted the authorities.

Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, called forensic experts to gather evidence, and transported the bodies to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani took immediate notice of the incident. SP Sadar Nabeel Khokhar stated that, according to initial investigations, unknown suspects were responsible for the killings. He assured that evidence has been collected from the crime scene, and the investigation is being conducted from all possible angles. SP Khokhar expressed confidence that the perpetrators would be apprehended soon and brought to justice.

In another incident, Uzair Aslam, a resident of Morah Noori, was found dead in a vehicle near Shams Colony within the jurisdiction of Jatli police station. The police reported that the victim sustained a bullet wound and had a pistol in his hand, with the bullet exiting the other side of the car, breaking the glass. The police forensic unit collected evidence from the scene and shifted the body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

SP Sadar Nabeel Khokhar revealed that preliminary findings suggested that the deceased was suffering from mental stress, and the incident appeared to be a suicide. However, he noted that the post-mortem examination and further investigation would clarify the situation.
