Jail authority to ensure IK’s video link attendance

LAHORE:

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge on Friday directed the jail authority to ensure the attendance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan through a video link on the next hearing date.

The ATC judge was hearing pre-arrest bail applications in three cases registered against Imran Khan related to the May 9 riots.

These cases include the Jinnah House attack, the attack on Askari Tower, and the arson of the Shadman police station.

Imran Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, argued that Khan, leaving aside the Al-Qadir Trust case, appeared before this court for arguments.

He added that Imran Khan’s bails had been confirmed in four other cases by another court, which announced the decision without the accused’s appearance.

The judge observed that a copy of that order should be produced before the court.
