Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods expand their entertainment empire to St Andrews
Pop icon Justin Timberlake and golf legend Tiger Woods are expanding their entertainment venture to the historic town of St Andrews, Scotland.
Their latest venture involves transforming the beloved New Picture House Cinema into an upscale T-Squared Social location.
After the success of their flagship establishment in New York City, Timberlake and Woods’ new project will feature cutting-edge sports simulators, duckpin bowling, and darts, while preserving two original cinema screens to honour the venue’s rich history.
Fife Council has approved the project, praising its potential to rejuvenate the area. The renovation is expected to create 40 to 45 new jobs, significantly boosting the local economy. According to project documents, the plans will enable locals to “experience a broader range of cinema, dining, and entertainment” and are “crucial in helping to secure a cinema offering going forward.”
Per the project’s terms of approval, work must commence within the next three years.
For Timberlake, the St Andrews location holds special meaning. The singer has a history with the legendary links, having competed in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2019.
Christopher Anand, CEO of Nexus Luxury Collection, the real estate venture behind T-Squared Social, stated, “We’re committed to honoring the theatre’s legacy while creating a modern entertainment destination.”
This announcement coincides with a difficult period for Timberlake, who recently encountered legal issues after a DWI arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, on June 18.
The singer addressed the incident three days later during a concert in Chicago on June 21, per Billboard, telling the audience, “It’s been a tough week. I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me right back. We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights … but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.”
During his June 29 performance in Boston, Timberlake seemed to address his arrest humorously. “So, uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving?” Timberlake asked the cheering crowd in a fan-captured clip posted on TikTok. “No, I’m just kidding,” he quickly added.
Timberlake’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., has stated that he will “vigorously” defend the star against the allegations. “He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time,” Burke mentioned in a statement.
