Kendrick Lamar brings out Whitney Alford, Dave Free and Drake references for Not Like Us music video
Kendrick Lamar has just unveiled the music video for his hit diss track aimed at Drake, "Not Like Us."
In the video, the "Euphoria" rapper tours various spots in his hometown, surrounded by excited fans who energetically chant the song's chorus, "They not like us/They not like us/They not like us."
What are the Drake references Kendrick Lamar makes in the Not Like Us music video?
In one scene, Kendrick and the song's producer Mustard are seen hanging out in front of the local spot, Tam's Burger. Mustard, sporting a Toronto Blue Jays hat, which he later clarified wasn't intended as a jab at Drake.
In another scene, Kendrick's long-time partner Whitney Alford dances with their children, seemingly addressing and dispelling Drake's accusations on "Family Matters" that Kendrick mistreated Whitney.
The video includes visual jabs at Drake as well. Kendrick is seen smashing an owl piñata with a stick and later staring down an owl in a cage towards the end of the Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar-directed video.
"Not Like Us," the final diss track Kendrick Lamar released during his lyrical feud with Drake in May, will be remembered as one of the greatest diss songs in rap history, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Will Kendrick Lamar drop a new album following his Not Like Us success?
The former TDE rapper is capitalizing on his career resurgence. On Juneteenth, he hosted The Pop Out - Ken & Friends concert, which is being celebrated as a significant event in hip-hop, particularly on the West Coast.
Rumor has it that K-Dot might be gearing up to release a new album.
