Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently the subject of an ongoing federal criminal investigation in New York, as reported by NBC News and confirmed by Deadline.

According to sources familiar with the matter, a federal grand jury in the Southern District of New York is actively reviewing evidence related to Combs, though specific details of the investigation remain undisclosed.

Both the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Combs’ legal representatives have refrained from providing comments on the matter.

Deadline quoted a law enforcement official stating, "This is the next step in the process for Mr. Combs as the investigation continues." The official also confirmed that Combs and his attorneys were formally notified about the grand jury proceedings last week.

NBC clarified that being a subject of an investigation does not necessarily imply imminent legal action, explaining that Combs has not received a target letter—a formal indication that prosecutors intend to seek an indictment from the grand jury.

This development follows previous scrutiny faced by Combs, including raids on his properties in Los Angeles and Miami earlier this year.

Additionally, Combs has dealt with allegations of sexual assault, culminating in the surfacing of a 2016 video showing him involved in an altercation with his then-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, settled through a federal lawsuit last November.

In response to these controversies, Combs has faced repercussions such as the loss of honours from Howard University, the cancellation of a Hulu reality project, and divestment from his former company, Revolt.
