Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed a comprehensive review of the central contracts for national cricketers, emphasising a stringent focus on fitness and performance.

Naqvi stated unequivocally that only players who meet the fitness standards will be awarded contracts.

"Fitness tests will be mandatory for both domestic and international players, and there will be no compromises on these standards," he declared.

Highlighting that performance in domestic cricket will be a key criterion for selection in the national team, Naqvi asserted "Players who perform well in domestic tournaments will be considered for international matches, while those who do not participate in domestic cricket will not be taken into consideration for the national team," he said.

The PCB chairman reiterated that the review of central contracts is ongoing, and future decisions will be based on a new formula aimed at enhancing the team's overall performance and fitness.
