Former Punjab Governor Ghulam Mustafa Khar hospitalised due to illness

Ghulam Mustafa Khar removed from ventilator and moved out of ICU. He continues to be affected by various infections.

Ghulam Mustafa Khar, 86-year-old former Governor of Punjab, has been admitted to Doctor Hospital in Lahore after his health deteriorated due to a serious illness.

Khar, a resident of Lahore, was diagnosed with a urine track infection, which resulted in the deterioration of his health.

He was admitted to the Doctor Hospital on June 24, after Eid, where he remains hospitalised.

During his stay, Ghulam Mustafa Khar developed complications including prostate, pneumonia, and respiratory issues, leading to a further worsening of his health.

Due to multiple infections, he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

He was unable to talk, due to his health condition, while being shifted at the hospital.

Later his condition stabilised, and he was transferred to a private room at Doctor Hospital.

Initially, he was advised to avoid some foods, but as his health improved he was able to eat limited food items as per doctors' recommendations.

Although the octagenarian has been removed from ventilator and moved out of the ICU, he continues to be affected by various infections.
