In a recent podcast appearance with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jason Mraz candidly shared his experience on Dancing with the Stars, admitting he hoped to leave the show early to reunite with his beloved cat. Despite initially assuming he'd only last a few weeks on the competition, Mraz found himself advancing to the finals alongside partner Daniella Karagach.

Reflecting on his journey, Mraz expressed mixed emotions about the extended stay, confessing, "I have to cancel all my plans for the entire rest of the year, and I'm missing my cat terribly."

Faced with this dilemma, Mraz resorted to urging friends to vote for other contestants to secure his exit from the show, a sentiment he also conveyed to producers who were unable to accommodate his request to leave early.

Ultimately, Mraz finished as the runner-up in season 32, narrowly missing the top spot taken by actress Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Despite his initial homesickness and the unexpected longevity on the dance floor, Mraz humorously reflected on the experience, remarking, "Maybe if I'd actually given a shit," he joked, "I would do it all over again if I could and I would try really hard."

The journey began for Mraz after the release of his 2023 single, "I Feel Like Dancing," prompting the show's producers to invite him to participate. Despite the challenges, Mraz appreciated the opportunity to learn fast and perform, calling it "the hardest thing ever but so fun."
