Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman recap the first two Deadpool movies in anticipation of Deadpool 3
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are teaming up once again to recap the first two Deadpool movies in anticipation of the release of Deadpool 3. In this Entertainment Weekly video, the two actors discuss the ups and downs of the Merc with a Mouth's adventures, from his first appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine to his own solo movies.
The video starts with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman acknowledging that Deadpool 1 and 2 are full of bad words, fights, and fourth wall breaks. They then decide to recap the first two movies together.
They start with Deadpool's first appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. They both agree this movie is not very good and would rather not talk about it.
Next, they move on to Deadpool 1. In this movie, Wade Wilson is a mercenary who gets cancer. He undergoes an experimental treatment that gives him super healing powers but also leaves him disfigured. Wade takes on the name Deadpool and goes on a mission to revenge himself on the people who experimented on him.
Deadpool 2 picks up a few years after the first movie. Wade is now in a relationship with Vanessa but she is killed. Wade is devastated and tries to kill himself but is saved by Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Wade becomes an X-Man in training but messes things up so badly that he forms his own team called X-Force. X-Force is quickly killed and Wade sacrifices himself to save a young mutant boy named Firefist. Cable, a time traveler from the future, goes back in time to kill Firefist but Deadpool convinces him not to. Cable decides to use his time travel device to go back in time and save Wade's life.
The video ends with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman talking about Deadpool 3. They reveal that Deadpool 3 will be part of the MCU and will feature Deadpool and Wolverine going on a road trip together. The video ends with them promoting the release of Deadpool 3 on July 26th.
