DI KHAN:

A less known offshoot of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has released a video of four labourers kidnapped from the Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

The video has reportedly been released by Khalid, a spokesperson for the banned outfit. In it, the four kidnapped labourers are shown sitting on the ground blindfolded as they introduce themselves and appeal to the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) to take steps for their safe release.

The abductors are also seen requesting the Punjab CM to take steps for the men’s release by accepting their demands.

The kidnapped workers also say in the video that if the demands of their captors were not accepted, their lives would be in grave danger.

The four victims belong to the Chishtian district of Punjab.

It may be recalled that unidentified terrorists had kidnapped at gunpoint 13 labourers working on a high transmission electricity line in Tank. Although all of them had later been released, four had been taken away.

According to police, they had been repairing the transmission line that provides electricity to the North Waziristan tribal district.

Police had on that occasion registered a First Information Report (FIR) in the case and started an investigation.
