Dua Lipa has responded to false allegations that she lip-synced during her Glastonbury 2024 headline performance.

The British pop star was the first headliner at this year’s festival, captivating the audience with her Pyramid Stage set on Friday night (June 28) at Worthy Farm, just one day before Coldplay's record-breaking fifth headline performance to a crowd of 100,000.

However, as Dua Lipa performed hits like “Training Season”, “New Rules”, and “Levitating”, many viewers watching from home accused her of miming her vocals.

Dua Lipa addressed these claims backstage at Glastonbury while spending time with her boyfriend, actor Callum Turner. When a MailOnline reporter questioned her about the allegations, she firmly replied, “I don’t mime.”

It appears the reason for the miming accusations was a lip-sync delay that occurred during the BBC’s broadcast of her performance on certain services.

Viewers urged the BBC to "fix the sound issues", noting that switching from BBC on Sky to Freeview resolved the problem. One viewer commented, “The Dua Lipa miming accusations may not be helped by the broadcast. BBC on Sky appears to have lip-sync issues. Just switched back to Freeview and that’s gone.”

Dua Lipa’s performance, which The Independent praised as "more than mere pop spectacle," followed a well-received but overcrowded Sugababes set, along with performances by artists such as Olivia Dean, Paul Heaton, and LCD Soundsystem.

Fans rallied behind Dua Lipa after she faced the false miming allegations.
