NA issues its yearly schedule

The sixteenth National Assembly of the country has issued the schedule of its first parliamentary year spanning from February 29, 2024 to February 28, 2025. The schedule has been developed in consultation with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

According to the schedule, during the first parliamentary year, sessions will be held for 129 days. From September 2024 to February 2025, sessions will be held for 12 days each month.

The parliamentary calendar does not include a scheduled assembly session for the current month of July. There may be holidays on July 16-17 for Ashura and on September 16 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The seventh session of the National Assembly will commence on August 5.

According to the 1973 Constitution, the National Assembly must hold a minimum of three sessions each parliamentary year. Additionally, there should not be a gap of more than 120 days between two sessions.
