Three arrested for girl’s death due to aerial firing

Three suspects involved in the death of a girl hit by aerial firing in the SITE Area Metrovill have been arrested.

SSP Keamari Faizan Ali stated that the police apprehended the three suspects during a raid for their involvement in aerial firing at a firing in the SITE Metrovil area on Sunday afternoon.

The girl, Khadija, was going in a bus when she was struck on the head by a bullet due to the aerial firing. Her body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that a wedding ceremony was taking place in Metrovill, where aerial firing occurred. Khadija was killed by a bullet to the head during this incident. Police registered a murder case and arrested three suspects in connection with her death. The intense aerial firing at a wedding ceremony in SITE Metrovill had caused panic in the neighbourhood.

Videos of the incident surfaced, showing numerous people firing with small and large weapons, with bullets hitting nearby houses. The brazen daytime firing sparked widespread fear and panic. Although initial reports indicated no arrests, SSP Keamari Faizan Ali promptly took notice of the incident and ordered the immediate arrest of those involved in the aerial firing.

Separately, a man, Shamsheer Ali, was arrested for causing the death of a child due to aerial firing during a wedding ceremony in Abidabad Block C, under the jurisdiction of Ittihad Town police station. According to the SSP, Shamsheer Ali fired a 222 rifle at the wedding ceremony of his relatives between Saturday and Sunday, with a video of the incident going viral on social media. Tragically, the gunfire injured 15-month-old Haroon, who was sleeping in a nearby house.
