Social animals become a threat to animals
It seems as if the distressing events of animal cruelty in the country are not going to taper off any time soon. After the savage torture incidents of amputating leg and feet of camels in Sanghar and Umerkot districts in June, a camel has been fired at in a village in Thana Bula Khan, Jamshoro district, on Monday.
Shah Muhammad Gabol, a cattle breeder, told the media that his camel went for grazing with his other livestock animals in village Ghulam Haider Gabol. However, except that camel all other animals came back to his farm. "The animal had most likely strayed away from the flock." Gabol along with other people began searching the camel. They later found the animal in critical injured condition with multiple gunshot wounds, lying on the ground in an area called Daajhu. Gabol complained that neither the police nor the livestock department responded by the evening though were timely informed about the incident. He told that a private vet has been called to provide life-saving treatment to his camel.
Thana Bula Khan police, however, claimed that they are searching for the suspect or suspects who shot the animal. The police are yet to register a formal complaint of Gabol.
