Police book 11 individuals, launch manhunt for absconders

RAWALPINDI:

A donkey was shot dead in the Chakri area of Rawalpindi on Monday when a land dispute turned violent.

The assailants were reportedly angry with the donkey's owner for preventing them from cutting down trees on disputed land. The police have registered a case against 11 individuals involved in the incident and are currently attempting to arrest them.

Muhammad Jahangir, the owner of the donkey, informed the police that he resides in the Mukhiyala area of Chakri. He stated that the accused, including Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Saqlain, Ghulam Safdar, Shakeel Khan, and 6 to 7 unidentified individuals, were cutting trees on his land. Jahangir objected to this action, as the land dispute is still pending in court. In retaliation, Muhammad Nawaz and the other accused fired at Jahangir's female donkey, which was grazing in the field.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and transported the donkey's body to a veterinary hospital for a post-mortem examination.

After the post-mortem, the donkey will be buried.

The police have stated that a case has been registered under various sections based on the complaint filed by the donkey's owner. They added that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused individuals.
