Princess Diana’s alleged relationship with Wimbledon star
Princess Diana's well-known love for tennis often brought her to Wimbledon, where she was frequently seen enjoying the matches from the royal box.
One intriguing aspect of her life, recently highlighted in an interview with Serbian newspaper Kurir, is her alleged relationship with former Wimbledon star Slobodan Živojinović.
Živojinović recounted his initial encounter with Diana in 1987 before one of his Wimbledon matches. "In our first conversation she asked me if I am the tennis player with the fastest serve, and I said 'yes'," Živojinović said. He continued, "Then she asked if my serve was still good. Shortly after that, we started seeing each other."
Their relationship, according to Živojinović, developed while Diana was still married to Prince Charles and he was engaged to his then-partner. Reflecting on Diana, he shared, "She was a wonderful woman. With her, I could talk about everything and even simple things became fascinating. I don't want to speak about it in any detail now that she is no longer with us."
Živojinović also mentioned how Diana's presence at his matches was a unique and supportive experience. "It is great when someone like her comes to watch the match and supports you. Never happened to me before that someone from the royal family came to support me," he said.
His son, too, had cherished memories of Diana, although he was initially surprised to learn she was a princess. "She was really great with kids and understood him," Živojinović noted.
Živojinović's reflections provide a rare glimpse into the personal life of Princess Diana and her impact on those around her, highlighting her passion for tennis and the connections she made through the sport.
