Victoria Monét took the BET Awards main stage by storm for the first time in her career on Sunday, delivering a memorable performance that showcased her versatility and talent.

The 35-year-old, three-time Grammy winner began her set with a nostalgic nod to the early 2000s, performing her hit "On My Mama" complete with its well-known choreography.

The "Hollywood" singer-songwriter then transitioned into a futuristic performance of her latest track "Alright," accompanied by producer Kaytranada. The set was inspired by the song’s music video, released on June 11.

Monét's performance at the BET Awards marked a significant milestone in her career. Nearly a year ago, she was denied a spot at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

In September, Monét shared on X, “My team was told it is ‘too early in my story’ for that opportunity,” responding to fans' disappointment over her absence from the show.

Despite this setback, Monét's career trajectory soared. She received seven Grammy nominations amid her sold-out headlining tour and secured three Grammy wins for best new artist, best R&B album, and best engineered album, non-classical by February. This success further cemented her status as a rising star in the music industry.

Following her Grammy triumphs, Monét made her debut at Coachella and has lined up several performances for the summer, including appearances at the Broccoli City Festival, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands Festival.

Additionally, she has been nominated for five BET Awards categories, including album of the year and best female R&B/pop artist.

The 2024 BET Awards aired live on June 30 from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrating Monét's significant contributions to the music industry.
