Firerose breaks silence on alleged abuse in Billy Ray Cyrus marriage

Firerose accuses Billy Ray Cyrus of waging a "smear campaign" to discredit her following their separation.

In a new interview with Page Six, Australian singer Firerose has detailed her alleged experience of isolation, control, and verbal abuse during her marriage to country music star Billy Ray Cyrus.

Firerose, 37, claims Cyrus imposed strict rules on her life, controlling her movements, communication, and even access to her loved ones. "I didn't have a car. I was only allowed to go to the local chiropractor and allowed once a month to get my nails done… it was systematic isolation and I couldn't find the courage to leave," she revealed.

She further alleges that Cyrus monitored her text messages and emails, requiring her to read them aloud for his approval. After moving in with him in Tennessee, she claims he isolated her from everyone in her life except for her AA sponsor.

Firerose, who was diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene and scheduled for a double mastectomy, claims Cyrus insisted she recover at a cabin on his farm with a nurse, rather than with her friends who had offered to help.

The singer also opened up about the early days of their relationship, which began in 2010 while Cyrus was still married to Tish Cyrus. She claims Cyrus repeatedly told her he was getting a divorce, leading her to believe he was single. "I would never ever have entered into a relationship with a married man," she said, "but he was such a great manipulator."

Following their separation, Firerose accuses Cyrus of launching a "smear campaign" against her, leading to the loss of work opportunities and income. She claims he has used her loving notes against her, attempting to paint her as the aggressor in their relationship.

Cyrus has previously denied Firerose's allegations of abuse and has accused her of abuse in court documents.

Firerose, now living with a friend in Tennessee, hopes that by sharing her story, she can empower other survivors of domestic abuse to find their courage. "If I can't use my public platform, then what chance does anybody have?" she questioned.
